Risk Officer
Main Purpose of the Job
To provide expertise in the management of risk and compliance and ensure there is an effective and robust risk and compliance system in place.
Key Performance Areas.
· Develop an effective and robust framework and system for risk management, monitoring, and reporting.· Coordinate the development, maintenance, and review of the corporate risk register, monitor risks and provide timely reports.· Ensure a robust system of internal controls and control assessment.· Develop capability around risk governance aligned with the operating model and risk strategy, by providing support, education and training to staff.· Provide support to the Governing Body on risk governance.· Develop a sound compliance management programme.· Develop and implement the compliance framework and policies to manage compliance risks.· Drive a compliance culture through awareness and trainings.· Monitor and report on relevant regulatory developments affecting the organisation; and assess whether internal operations are aligned to these developments.· Carry out any other risk and compliance management responsibilities as may be expected.
Qualifications:
· At least a Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, such as Compliance, Risk, Legal or other related qualifications from a recognized institution.· Post Graduate Qualification in Enterprise Risk Management· Training in Compliance Management is an added advantage.
Experience:
· At least five (5) years post qualification experience in a corporate environment with a risk and compliance role.· Exposure to corporate and board governance.
