Cost Accountant

Main Purpose of the Job  
The Cost Accountant is a critical role responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost, and margin analysis.
 
Key Performance Areas
· Oversee and analysing cost expenditure and purchases.
· Determine product prices.
· Managing stock levels, cycle counts and oversee stock take for all branches.
· Monitor inventory valuation.
· Review product prices and product cost and make recommendations about cost efficient.
· Monitor unit cost variance.
· Analyse and report profit margin.
· Assist in month-end and year end closing.
 
Qualifications:
· Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field. (ACCA or CIMA) are required.
 
Experience:
· 7 years post qualification Experience preferably in retail industry
· Proven work experience as a Cost Accountant
· Thorough knowledge of ACCPAC
· Familiarity with VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
