Main Purpose of the Job  
 
This is a critical position with high technical expertise requirement in diamond processing and optimization. The Quality Manager’s core responsibilities include ensuring that Tiffany quality standards are maintained at the required levels for all diamonds planned and polished in Laurelton Diamonds Botswana, also ensuring that correct decisions are made at every process or stage of the diamond manufacturing process to retain and maximise the diamond value and yield. The Quality Manager is also responsible for training and building capacity within the Quality Assurance and Quality Control Departments as well as cross training to assure diamond value retention at every quality assurance process and that both productivity and quality targets are consistently met. Developing, implementing, and monitoring quality management systems, and leading teams to identify and resolve quality issues and drive continuous improvement. The role also involves a mix of strategic planning, hands-on execution, and data analysis to maintain high quality standards
 
Key Performance Areas
 
· Works closely with the Production Manager & Inventory Control Production Logistics (ICPL) Manager to ensure that production output meets and exceeds Tiffany & Co Quality Standards required by Tiffany’s Grading Laboratories.
· Ensuring that Tiffany & Co Standards are deployed and monitored throughout the production processes to deliver the required organizational goals and objectives in all areas according to plan and specifications: Key areas are Diamond Grading Quality, Diamond Yield, Diamond Value retention, Productivity, Costs and Production Lead Time.
· Reviews quality defects daily and ensures targeted feedback given to production operatives to ensure quality output without leaking diamond value.
· Takes the necessary steps to maximize diamond value & yield and liaises with all the team members (in Botswana and Corporate) to ensure delivery of required Tiffany Quality Standards.
· Ensures that department employees are equipped with the necessary tools, continuously assess skills and knowledge to allow them to deliver triple excellence diamond quality (Tiffany & Co Quality Standard).
· Works with ICPL and Production Managers to complete Annual Manpower planning in line with the production plan
· Oversees daily operations, ensuring adherence to quality standards across all production processes and identifying areas for improvement.

Qualifications
· Diploma or Degree in relevant field
 
Experience
· At least 10 years’ experience in diamond quality management within a manufacturing environment, and at least 4 years in a leadership/management role
